Signs of Wellbeing Level 2 Training (Early Help)

We offer bespoke training with your school or agency to ensure you have the current Early Help knowledge to support children and families in your Local Authority.

Cumberland and Westmorland and Furness Early Help Teams are reviewing their Early Help Training at present to reflect developments in their Early Help offers. There will be no multiagency Early Help training until September 2024 at the earliest. We can still offer bespoke training with your school or agency to ensure you have the current Early Help knowledge to support children and families in your Local Authority.

The aim of this training is to increase knowledge and enable practitioners to work more effectively with children, young people and their families using Early Help, and identify needs early to give all children the opportunity to thrive and succeed.

Target audience: 

  • Staff and volunteers who come into contact with children, young people and/or families.
  • Resource pack with relevant reading material will be sent on confirmation of booking for each session.

The training

The training is in 2 parts.

Session A (2.5 hours)

Participants will:

  • increase their understanding of the Early Help – Signs of Wellbeing assessment and process, including the SEND process
  • gain an understanding of the Early Help Bottom Lines, Young People’s Toolkit and Step up / Step Down Process
  • share learning from CSCP Safeguarding Groups around Information Sharing and understand how to improve their practice

Session B (2.5 hours)

Participants will:

  • understand our roles within the multi-agency Team Around the Family (TAF)
  • gain confidence in how to complete and/or contribute to the Early Help Signs of Wellbeing assessment
  • be able to identify sources of support to meet further training needs

Prior to booking on one of the refreshed Early Help Assessment - Signs of Wellbeing sessions, there is training available to explain the ethos of Signs of Wellbeing, this training is a recorded session so you can access it at a time suitable to you and before you attend the Early Help Training.

To book your place, all Council staff log into MyLearning and search for the specific course.  All non-council users are required to log into MyLearning, those that haven't registered already please create a new account, following the guidance on the website. 

All participants should join the training event 30 minutes before the start time to allow being admitted onto the course

When booking onto this training please do not share the Microsoft Teams link with anyone else.  Our numbers are restricted to maximum 21 delegates only.  This has a serious impact on delivery of the training and the numbers attending.
