CARLISLE MENCAP LIMITED - provides life long, person centred support for people with learning disabilities and their families in North Cumbria.

4 EDEN MENCAP SOCIETY - 4Eden (formally Eden Mencap Society) is a local charity providing support, services, and opportunities throughout the Eden Valley from our office based in Penrith. Our services specialise in learning disability and autism spectrum disorder; standard/lower level and high level/complex needs. We provide a wide range of staff, trained and skilled to meet individual specific needs.

CUMBRIA DEAF ASSOCIATIONthis external link will open in a new window - an independent local charity that helps deaf people and their families living in Cumbria to achieve educational, physical, social and spiritual well-being.

OAKLEA TRUST - provide high quality personal care.  They aim to enable individuals to be as independent as possible, encouraging individuals to carry out activities themselves or with support. 

GUIDE DOGS FOR THE BLINDthis external link will open in a new window - provider for 'Mobility and Independence Services for Children and Young People with a Visual Impairment; in Cumbria.  This service will identify CYP with a visual impairment and support them to learn effective mobility and independence skills at home, in school, and in the community.

SHORTBREAKS FOR CHILDREN WITH DISABILITIES - Group activities for children aged 9-19 with a disability and individual support service for children aged 0-8 years.  This services is to provide parents with a disabled child/children with a break.  There are a number of providers across the county:

CUMBRIA SEND INFORMATION ADVICE & SUPPORT SERVICE - Offering impartial information, advice and support to children and young people with special educational needs and or disabilities and their parents and carers. Cumbria SEND IAS Service (which was formerly known as the Parent Partnership Service) offers impartial information, advice and support to children and young people with special educational needs and or disabilities and their parents and carers. This support now includes signposting to health and social care advisory services.

Cumbria SEND IAS Service staff will make sure that parents/carers of all children (0-25 years old) with additional needs have access to information, advice and support. Confidential and impartial support is offered to parents/carers so they can make informed decisions about their child's education.
